And tomorrow is only a month later... :)
Alright alright...
So I didn't really like BHD because I couldn't get use to the leaning(I already have problems scrolling weapons) & close quarters battle. I got use to leaning with Ravenshield and got an appreciation for how not really that CQB BHD is. But...JO is a new boat...
Yes like every other DF game its a transition. Whether its DF1 to JO or BHD to JO there's still a learning curve. I suggest you get a few friends and hop in a server or two. Don't expect to pick it up right away or be owning noobs because you are a noob!! :)
Establishing your character - You are given a variety of characters to choose from and yes even a female, a manly one but female nonetheless. You can choose your voice as well.
Weight - Think again about carrying an at-4 or extra nades - you are able to chose ammo for each weapon and specify how much you will be carrying. Depending on the type and amount your total weight will increase or decrease - your weight will affect how quickly or slowly you can move.
Vehicles - Driving 101 - I suck - but it is hella fun. You are given a variety of vehicles to chose from - travel by land, sea, or even both with certain vehicles! Unlike BHD you can control the vehicles which means driving, taking off and landing - which can prove to be fatal if you're not careful.
Grass & Terrain - Beloved grass...welcome back the ghilie suit. I never played DF2 but y'all old schoolers must be happier then a pig in a ...pigsty bringing it back to the old days. Yes you can lay down in the grass & hide and it is pretty darn tall even crouching isn't too bad.
Day/Night - With the day/night cycle you can go from playing mid day with the sun glaring in your eyes(and oh does it glare) to darkness all in the same map. This does provide an interesting element to the game.
150 Player servers - So the controversy begins - Novalogic does not allow users to host 150 player servers, only 64...which means you need to use their 3rd party host services if you want to host 150 player servers. Regardless believe me you don't want to. I hopped in one and it was so laggy that I have absolutely no interest in trying it again. 100 player servers aren't too bad but I would still stick with 64 & under - do you really want to compromise your skills because of lag? I would advise at least trying a 150 player server but if the lag doesn't kill you - the noise may. What does 150 people shooting at the same time sound like...enough to drive a crazy man sane.
MMmmk think that's it for now :)
